Laura Conrad
Serving as the Pastor of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson, SC, Laura loves being a part of worship, preaching, and leading God’s people in that corner of the world. Laura serves ARW as the Assistant Chairperson of the Steering Committee. As a pastor, she loves using what she has learned through the years at ARW in teaching, leading Session and staff in community building, and especially in planning and leading worship. Laura shares her life with three very special folks: her husband, Chuck, and their two kids Avery and Hallie

Cheryl Glenn
Our music leader for 2010, Cheryl Glenn is on staff at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, where she is the techy go-to girl for all things dealing with communications. On the weekends she also leads music for a new fun church just outside of Charleston, The Porch. (www.theporchcommunity.com) Cheryl loves telling the story through all sorts of creative media, and when she’s not sitting in front of her Mac, she’s either sticking her nose in a book or hanging out with her partner and their two Jack Russels, Daisy and Bosco.

Deb Guess
Deb enjoys anything that involves creativity, whether it’s visual arts, dance, or worship. ARW has been the foundation for many skills she now shares in other ministry settings. She serves as Director for the 2010 workshop.

Aimee Buchanan
Aimee currentyl serves as the founder and director of Asheville Youth Missions. AYM is a new ministry in Asheville, NC which brings church groups into the Asheville area to do mission. The debriefing and processing of mission work primarily takes place using the arts. She is the co-author of Making Worship Real and ??All That We Ar??e. One of her greatest loves is helping people to get freed up and express their faith creatively. Her “mostest greatest” loves are her hubbie—Bill—her kids—Elli and Taylor—and her dog—Tanner. There’s also hanging out in the mountains, Mexican food, and the Indigo Girls!

Bill Buchanan
Bill is an associate pastor at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church. He is co-author of two books on arts and worship, and has been a worship leader and music leader at several Presbyterian gatherings, including ARW! Bill loves drinking good coffee, eating good barbecue, and watching college basketball, but his favorite pastimes are being a husband to Aimee and a father to Elli and Taylor.

Glenn Bannerman
Glenn is ARW’s most experienced recreation leader and continues to dazzle participants with his knowledge and leadership techniques.

Carol Clark
Carol Clark, pastor of Unity Presbyterian Church, has been the preacher and worship leader at Montreat Conferences and other seminars. Her passion is planning worship – worship that sparkles and speaks good news through song, dance, media, drama, and the foundational spoken word that tells the Biblical story joyfully. With her background in elementary education, she loves working with children and enjoys the great company of her husband Mark.

Beth Gunn
Beth is a true artisan in the crafts room or in the kitchen. She will wow you with her knowledge, her creativity, and her hospitality! She is really fun, too!

Neeley Lane
Neeley loves to laugh, play, dance, and be surrounded by all God’s people! She thrives off others’ energy and enjoys spontaneous, creative ways to explore God’s grace through games and fellowship! Neeley currently serves a nonprofit ministry in Charlotte, NC and is newly married!

Kathy Emerson
Kathy is always looking for ways to gather church members in small groups. She loves to read, play, walk and talk. Her ARW skills are always in use and shared in her church and community in Rock Hill, SC. She is thrilled to be coming to ARW 2010. d

Mary MacMichael
Mary hails from Virginia and shares her gifts in ministry with Covenant Presbyterian. She enjoys talking and laughing with friends and trying home improvement projects. She’ll share some of those skills in the Time’s A Wastin’ workshop!

Sophie Maness
Sophie brings an enthusiastic yet gentle leadership style to help plan and carry out events and programs that bring people closer together and deepen their faith. She loves to play and dance.

Brian Maness
Brian is a true stained-glass artisan, combining design, colors and skilled craftsmanship to help students make sensational stained and fused glass creations.

Roger Maness
Roger brings his playful, caring spirit and organizational leadership to ARW. Roger enjoys good Bluegrass music, clogging, golf, and building stained glass panels. He shares his creative side in the stained glass studio – you’ll be sure to go home with a wonderful creation from his workshop.

Jodi Martin
Jodi Martin lives in Sandy Springs, GA with her husband Joe B. and her two middle school boys Joseph and Benjamin. She has a master’s degree in Christian Education from PSCE and an M. Div. from Columbia seminary. She enjoys running and being outdoors in God’s amazingly, beautiful creation.

Leslie McCarthy
Leslie’s decorations and organizational skills help make the ARW experience. Enjoy a little insight into Leslie’s genius as she shares some of her creative spirit in the Mirror, Mirror workshop!

Howard Moore
Howard is a master woodcarver, having done it for over 50 years. He now brings his expertise in woodcraft to this new and exciting shaker boxes course.

Neil Myer
This young, innovative leader combines loads of creative energy with subject knowledge and game leadership and leads ARW as the course leader for P3.

Dick Porter
Dick is an experienced woodworker, and has helped over 500 people to build dulcimers. Shaker boxes are a new creative craft for ARW, and Dick is excited to share this craft with participants.

Croskeys Royall
Croskeys currently serves on the program staff at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC. He has worked in children’s ministry for over a decade now and likes figuring out practical ways to use games and technology to help people live into a joyful faith.

Carol Steele
Carol is a recent dual-degree graduate of Union-PSCE and serves as the Senior Associate Director of the Center for Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Carol staffs the ARW Steering Committee and is excited to share her gifts as a course leader. It is amazing that Carol finds time to knit while being a wife to Dwight, a mother to Olin and a busy Montreat Staff member!

Steve Thomas
Steve is a Presbyterian pastor from Tennessee who enjoys the out-of-doors, funny stories, and being creative with his hands. He has a unique set of lenses through which he views life that he integrates into ministry. He has a warm fuzzy personality and lives out hospitality in his everyday life.

Lynn Turnage
Lynn’s been playing all her life – an incredible calling! Her two daughters keep her running and smiling all the time, and on top of that she serves as the Christian Educator at Central Presbyterian in Atlanta, Georgia. Ask Lynn about the 500th birthday celebration she attended!

Jennifer Walker
Jennifer loves working with youth and getting them excited about what is going on in the church and their faith. She serves on the ARW Steering Committee and loves to spend time with her husband, David, and their twin boys, James and Austin.

Jim Wallis
Jim Wallis is an expert in organization diagnosis and improvement, transition/change management, mentoring, coaching, and development of leaders. He is a professional consultant not only with businesses, but also with churches and non-profit agencies. He is a Presbyterian Elder and currently lives and works in Asheville, NC. Beyond anything though, Jim is a GOLFER. Come rain, snow, sleet, ice, hurricanes, or tornadoes, if there is a golf course available, he will be there! Jim looks forward to an afternoon of golfing and theology with an ARW crew!

Marilyn Werst
Known for her creativity and artistic flair, Marilyn shares her talents with ARW participants, sending each person home with unique and beautiful artwork. Don’t miss her pre-conference workshop on Monday.

Lisa Diedrick
Lisa is ARW’s registrar and treasurer and keeps her eyes on ARW year round! She has served several churches in Christian Education and Family Ministries and loves designing creative programming.
