Re: Create Board of Directors
Lisa Diedrick serves ARW as our administrative specialist, organizing and tracking our finances and databases and is the face of ARW as our registrar. She dabbles in numerous areas of ministry, including leading the occasional retreat or playology event and serving as the adjunct staff for two weeks of summer youth conferences at Montreat. Her current passions include tennis, traveling and spending time with her granddaughter.
Jen Evans is Director of Youth Ministries at First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC. Jen and her husband Rich have two kids, Trey and William. She went to Elon University and Union Presbyterian seminary, where she earned her Master's degree in Christian Education. Jen loves serving the greater Church and have served as a workshop leader, keynote speaker and manual writer, as well as recreation leader for Presbyterian Youth Triennium, Montreat Youth Conference. In her free time she enjoys running, laughing, dancing and organizing with friends and family.
Darci McKinnon is a musician, artist, recreation/workshop leader and mother of two, daughter Aidan (14) and son Ian (5). She recently moved to Edmond, Oklahoma when her husband accepted a call to First Presbyterian Church, Oklahoma City. Darci spent most of her professional career working with youth and adults as a Camp and Conference center director and as a Christian Educator/Youth Minister for the Presbyterian Church (USA). She enjoys camping, playing games, sewing, knitting, reading, creating art and having fun with family and friends.
Mark Montgomery is Interim Senior Ministier at First Congregational Church of Cheshire. Mark loves re:create and all things ARW. God created us out of joy and for joy. God created us as an outlet, as vessels for God's joy. Our journey is about knowing and sharing this joy.
Kari Morgan loves all things ARW and tells all she meets about the ‘re:create’ family. She is currently serving as the Director of Youth & Recreation Ministries at First Presbyterian Church in Anderson, SC. Kari loves working with, and alongside, teenagers on their faith journey and teaching them how art and recreation can play a huge part in their relationship with Christ. At ARW in 2007 Kari says she picked just the right classes to take, in one of her classes she met Andrew, now her husband. Andrew proposed to Kari on the stage in Upper Anderson at the ARW live auction in 2009. They still come to ARW together every year but now they bring along their adorable son, Lanning (who has already attended three ARW conferences).
Josh Richard caught the Montreat bug as an awkward middle school handbell ringer at has been hooked ever since. He spent eight years in various capacities on Summer Staff and in the Marketing department at Montreat, and now spends his days as Communications Director at Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. Josh's list of personal heroes include his spouse Kaye, Mike Erdelyi, and Elon Musk.
Rich Richards has served in youth, recreation, music, and creative arts ministries in the Presbyterian Church (USA) for over 17 years. Rich was the co-author of both the 2010 and 2013 Presbyterian Youth Triennium Small Group Manuals as well as the 2014 and 2015 Montreat Youth Conference Small Group Manuals. He is the Associate Director of Music at White Memorial Presbyterian Church where he and his wife (and co-author for the manuals), Rev. Grier Booker Richards work together on staff. Rich is a rowing coach for Triangle Rowing Club and enjoys cycling, cooking, painting and architecture. Rich and Grier have a son, Olsen, who LOVES to play and learn new games with his parents.
Kenneth Slifer is a [relatively] long time Montreater that has served on various summer staffs, planning teams, and leadership teams since he first entered the gates in 1998. He spends his work week trying to make a medical software company fun -- encouraging productivity, laughter, and team work in the midst of rapid growth and change. Kenneth currently lives in Charleston, SC with his greyhound rescue, Dolly, and enjoys traveling, spending time in the great outdoors, hosting game nights, and eating good food!
Carol Steele is Vice President for Program at Montreat Conference Center. As a preschooler she attended Family Conferences at Montreat, and later roller skated in Lingle Hall on the campus of the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, VA. Later still she had epic homesickness at summer camp but finally decided that while she didn't enjoy attending camp, working there as a college student was quite nice. Now she's married to her fellow camp counselor Dwight Christenbury and they have two children who (they hope) are aspiring campers.
Bob Tuttle recently retired from 28 years of service at Montreat Conference Center as Vice President of the Center for Youth & Young Adult Ministry. He is currently chair of his presbytery’s Committee on Preparation for Ministry and is also a member of the Board for the Presbyterian Campus Ministry at Western Carolina University.
