Neil Myer is a husband, father, sports enthusiast and a child of God. He currently serves as UKirk Presbyterian Campus Minister for students at Michigan State University and as Director of Discipleship at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in East Lansing.
Kevin Cartee is the Executive Director of Outdoor Ministries and Leadership Development for Trinity Presbytery. Kevin is a native of Laurens, SC and a graduate of Presbyterian College and Union-PSCE.
Beth Elliot is a retired Director of Christian Education and youth associate having served churches in Georgia, North Carolina and the Presbytery of Coastal Carolina. Her long and passionate history with ARW and Youth Conferences keeps bringing her back to Montreat. Beth resides in Laurinburg, NC and cheers for the Blue Hose.
Erika Funk is a California girl despite having lived in Pensacola, Philadelphia and now Charlotte. Her craftiness comes from her mother and her bad eyesight from her dad. She currently serves as the Associate Pastor for Mission at First Presbyterian Church, Charlotte and has recently become a foster mom. Hot cups of tea, Joss Whedon and bold acts of justice are what keep the gleam in her eyes.
Deb Guess is a full-time jewelry and mixed media artist, producing artwork for galleries and teaching in the Soul Whispers Arts studio and other venues throughout the southeast. Her passion is helping folks make connections between creativity and personal spirituality. Deb also loves to garden, cook, travel, hang out with her four grown children, and do photography. She lives in Laurinburg, NC with husband, Deck, and her dog, Schnitzel.
Michelle Phillips, is the Associate Youth Director at Village Presbyterian Church. She has served in many different levels of the PCUSA church over the years and is looking forward to PYWA, PYT and ARW! She loves working with those squirrelly middle schoolers and inquisitive high schoolers as they travel down the journey of faith. Her favorite games are “Seven Degrees of Kevin Bacon” and “Name that Movie Quote."
Peter Thompson is a child of God and risk taker by trade… How else do you explain answering a call into ministry- especially youth ministry? Peter, a graduate of Montreat College ’03 and Union Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School of Christian Education ’09, is currently answering his call to ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Burlington, NC as an Associate Pastor for Youth and College Ministries. Peter is in his 5th year at FPC and has been working in the church for nearly 10 years. Peter enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 kids, playing and coaching sports, cooking, eating, woodworking, outdoor adventure, and traveling.
Mary Woodfin was an elementary school teacher and principal for 31 years. She found a passion for recreation after attending SARW in 1993. She and her husband Mike enjoy golfing, cooking and traveling, especially to visit grand children.
